Training Objectives:  

• Participants will obtain knowledge related to how MH professionals can respond to court orders, court requests, and court proceedings as a MH professional.
• Participants will be able to describe subpoenas, witness (character vs expert), testimony, open and closed records, and confidentiality/privileged communication.
• Participants will discern action plans related to potential legal issues in their own careers/practices.
• Participants will obtain knowledge related to state and federal ethical codes.
• Participants will become familiar with Texas rules and regulations related to MH professionals in the courtroom.
